A campus unit may transfer or sell item(s) to another UC campus unit in the same or a different department (BFB-BUS-38).
Example #1: Transfer or sale of item(s) from one unit to another unit in the same department
MCB-LSA (a unit within the Department of Molecular & Cell Biology) transfers or sells an item to MCB-Barker (another unit within the Department of Molecular & Cell Biology) without Excess & Surplus' involvement.
Example #2: Transfer or sale of item(s) from one unit to a unit in a different department
Bergman Research Group (a unit within the Department of Chemistry) transfers or sells an item(s) to The Bustamante Lab (a unit within the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology (MCB)) without Excess & Surplus' involvement.
Note: The originating departmental unit equipment custodian must submit an Equipment Inventory Modification Request (EIMR) through the Berkeley Equipment Tracking System (BETS) in any case where the item is inventorial.
